Fineline Global Group Acquires IBR
April 19, 2024 | PRNewswireEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
IBR Leiterplatten GmbH & Co. KG joins the Fineline Global Group and is now an integral part of one of the leading suppliers of PCBs. Fine Line Gesellschaft für Leiterplattentechnik mbH acquired 100% shares of IBR.
The successful IBR will continue to operate independently and will now strengthen its position in the market, benefiting from additional production capacities, resources and infrastructure from the strong Fineline network.
Existing projects and day-to-day operations will remain unchanged for IBR customers.
Together with IBR, Fineline will continue to expand its position as a leading value-added reseller of printed circuit boards in Germany and the DACH region.
Christian Ringler, Managing Director IBR, says: "We are pleased to be able to offer IBR customers even more opportunities and benefits for stronger cooperation."
Dirk Wolter, Managing Director Fineline Germany, says: "The Fineline team and I are very excited to see what IBR's recipe for success has been so far, and at the same time how we will continue to successfully develop both business models in the future"

Elementary, Mr. Watson: Ensuring Design Integrity
03/28/2024 | John Watson -- Column: Elementary, Mr. WatsonBack in February, many of us watched the "Big Game." It reminded me of the saying, “It's not how you start that is important, but rather how you finish." It is perfectly okay when you are talking about sports, you get off to a bad first half and need to recover in the second half. However, when it comes to PCB design, this is not a good practice. If things start badly, they usually don't recover. They continue down that same path, costing more money and losing design time.

Your Thermal Designs Are Inefficient
12/07/2023 | Douglas Brooks, Consultant, and Johannes Adam, ADAM ResearchMost designers rely on the trace widths suggested in IPC-2152, the “bible” for calculating high-current trace widths (unless you have read our book). IPC-2152 is the best, most thoroughly researched study of trace currents and temperatures available. But it does have some weaknesses. One weakness is that it (by necessity) studies 6-inch-long traces in isolation. But traces are not all 6 inches long nor in isolation.
